Staff Software Engineer (Applied AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA; must be located in San Francisco and open to working in the office

Salary: $200,000–$275,000 annually, plus benefits, potential equity, and potential bonus

What you will do

• Own major application areas and drive features from concept through production.
• Build intuitive user experiences powered by generative AI.
• Scale the platform to ingest and process terabytes of data from varied sources.
• Design real-time querying and user notification capabilities.
• Optimize search algorithms for fast, relevant results.
• Collaborate with engineers, deployment teams, and users to solve real-world problems.

Requirements

• Located in San Francisco and open to working in the office.
• More than 8 years of experience working with cross-functional software development teams.
• Knowledge of training, deploying, integrating, and monitoring machine learning models.
• Understanding of responsible generative AI practices.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience shipping robust, well-tested, production-grade software and navigating large codebases.

Nice to have

• Experience applying large language models to improve user experience.
