Senior Cybersecurity Engineer (Cloud Security)

Location: Dublin, Ireland, with a flexible work arrangement requiring at least 50% of each quarter in the office or in the field. Other listed location: Reston, Virginia, USA.

Base salary: €84,000–€126,000 per year in Ireland.

What you will do

• Define and implement strategic security controls across organizational infrastructure.
• Translate security policies into testable, automated code to support non-bypassable compliance.
• Design and execute the roadmap for automated security governance, compliance verification, and control enforcement.
• Embed DevSecOps controls into CI/CD pipelines and develop reusable secure Terraform and CloudFormation modules.
• Lead complex security initiatives, mentor junior staff, and influence security governance decisions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive hands-on engineering experience, including at least 2 years focused on security governance or compliance.
• Deep experience architecting, implementing, and securing infrastructure and services across AWS, GCP, or Azure at scale.
• Strong proficiency in at least one scripting language, including Python, Go, Bash, or Ruby.
• Expert knowledge of cloud, network, application, and platform security in complex multi-cloud environments.
• Experience designing and implementing secure Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
• Ability to lead initiatives end-to-end and communicate technical security risks and compliance requirements to senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, CKA, or CKS.
• Experience implementing, auditing, and maintaining NIST CSF or ISO 27001 controls.
