Senior Database Engineer (SQL Server/PostgreSQL/MongoDB)

What you will do

• Design, deploy, optimize, and scale database environments across multi-cloud and on-premises platforms.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and index strategies.
• Build and maintain backup, recovery, disaster recovery, failover, and high-availability procedures.
• Monitor performance, analyze metrics, and implement database tuning strategies.
• Collaborate with developers and architects on data models and schemas.
• Manage security controls, encryption, migrations, upgrades, version control, and database troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States for this remote role.
• 6+ years of professional database engineering experience.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including T-SQL, execution plans, indexing, Always-On Availability Groups, mirroring, log shipping, and recovery models.
• Strong PostgreSQL experience and hands-on experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
• Strong experience managing databases on AWS RDS and Aurora.
• Knowledge of database security, encryption, authentication, compliance, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery planning.

Nice to have

• Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect or Azure Data Engineer certification.
• Infrastructure-as-Code experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager.
• Experience with ETL tools, data pipelines, database monitoring tools, CI/CD, automated testing, and Agile/DevOps environments.
• Knowledge of high-availability architecture and replication.
