Senior Data Engineer (Data Platform)

What you will do

• Architect and lead large-scale data pipelines, streaming systems, and data lakes processing billions of daily events.
• Design and implement reliable real-time and batch data processing solutions.
• Own production data systems, improving uptime, correctness, security, compliance, and resilience.
• Implement ETL/ELT patterns, testing, monitoring, observability, and data quality controls.
• Partner with engineering, analytics, data science, growth, and business teams to deliver actionable datasets and tools.
• Mentor engineers, evaluate new technologies, and help shape the data platform roadmap through company growth and acquisitions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing, operating, and owning live production data systems.
• Expert-level SQL skills and strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL/ELT design, and scalable data architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Spark, Kafka, and modern data processing frameworks.
• Experience running data infrastructure on AWS and using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java; Python is preferred.
• Ownership of complex systems and readiness to operate with broad technical influence at a senior level.
