Product Engineering Lead (QVAC) (100% remote)

What you will do

• Lead app and feature engineering teams building QV.AC, a local, on-device AI assistant.
• Set engineering standards for performance, reliability, clean APIs, and feature design.
• Own the API surface between the AI core and the application and coordinate with AI research and deep technology teams.
• Partner with product managers to scope roadmap work, challenge unrealistic assumptions, and validate ideas through prototypes and AI tools.
• Set team goals, mentor engineering leads, and improve team operating systems.

Requirements

• Experience managing engineers or engineering leads who ship consumer products, ideally AI-powered applications.
• Strong product sense and the ability to distinguish valuable features from unnecessary scope.
• Understanding of applied AI and on-device constraints, including model size, latency, memory, battery usage, and inference reliability.
• Heavy use of AI tools in day-to-day work and willingness to experiment with new models and capabilities.
• Deep JavaScript and React experience.
• Initiative, curiosity, resilience, and the ability to give and receive direct critique; excellent English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with local or on-device inference, LLM evaluations, cross-platform mobile and desktop applications, or open source.
