Planner Buyer Jr (Materials Planning/Procurement): Planning and monitoring material flows through the production cycle while purchasing materials, maintaining inventory levels, and managing bills of material and supplier awards with an accent on just-in-time purchasing, EOQ, and supply quality. Focus on resolving material discrepancies, evaluating vendor reliability, developing competitive supply sources, and controlling subcontract cost, schedule, and scope.

What you will do

Plan, schedule, and monitor material movement through the production cycle to determine purchasing requirements.
Obtain materials using engineering and production schedules, including just-in-time purchasing and EOQ methods, to maintain planned inventory levels.
Create and maintain bills of material and part or commodity numbers in supply chain management or enterprise-wide systems.
Resolve discrepancies and ensure material standards are met while minimizing or obtaining approval for non-conformances and variances.
Develop specifications for new contract orders, gather quotations, examine bids, and make supplier awards.
Monitor subcontract cost, schedule, and scope; evaluate vendor reliability and develop new supply sources when existing suppliers are no longer competitive.

Requirements

Degree required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience.
Ability to apply concepts and principles to resolve a variety of issues.
Ability to analyze situations or data across a variety of factors and solve problems of moderate scope.
