Data Scientist II - Gen AI/Python/AWS/SQL

Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA; hybrid schedule with 3 days per week onsite

Salary: $73,300–$150,500 per year

What you will do

• Develop and evaluate machine learning, generative AI, predictive modeling, optimization, simulation, and statistical solutions.
• Build proof-of-concept applications and integrate AI solutions into existing business processes through automation.
• Integrate large volumes of data from DB2, SQL Server, Web API, Teradata, and other sources to create analysis-ready data assets.
• Apply validation, aggregation, reconciliation, data mining, scoring, clustering, and other analytical methods.
• Interpret results and communicate actionable findings to managers and business leadership.
• Provide support, training, and mentorship to lower-level data science peers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Four years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience is preferred.
• Strong capability in at least two core data science areas, including programming and process automation, data visualization, or statistics and statistical modeling.
• Experience with machine learning algorithms, feature selection and extraction, end-to-end model development, and deployment.
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, troubleshooting, database exploration, and logical data modeling across multiple sources.
• Demonstrated communication, prioritization, attention to detail, and the ability to work with senior management and executive leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience with DevOps, automation, data mining, web scraping, object-oriented software, or API and database integrations.
• Experience in financial services.
• Leadership, coaching, mentoring, change management, and proof-of-concept prototyping experience.
• Master’s degree in a quantitative field.
