Senior Counsel - Litigation

hirify.global operates a Legal Department supporting the bank and its affiliates across litigation, risk, and contested matters.

What you will do

• Oversee litigation and pre-litigation matters, including risk assessment, outside counsel management, strategy development, and resolution efforts.
• Investigate claims, develop factual records, prepare witnesses, preserve evidence, coordinate discovery, and support dispute resolution.
• Lead the Legal Department’s eDiscovery function, including preservation, collection, review processes, vendors, technology, and litigation support capabilities.
• Analyze litigation portfolios, legal spend, trends, and exposure to improve decision-making and litigation prevention.
• Prepare matter assessments, exposure analyses, reserve recommendations, and reports for Legal Department leadership, senior management, and risk committees.
• Collaborate with legal, control, and business teams to identify, manage, and mitigate enterprise legal risk.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor.
• Eligibility to serve as corporate counsel or admission to practice law in the work location; Ohio admission is preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant in-house or law firm experience.
• Substantial litigation experience with strong legal judgment, strategic thinking, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to assess risk, develop litigation strategies, manage legal budgets, and advise senior leaders with limited supervision.

Nice to have

• Experience handling litigation involving financial institutions.
• Deep experience with eDiscovery, document preservation, information governance, litigation support processes, and related technology.
• Experience applying data and analytics to legal risk management and controlling legal spend.
• Strong leadership, project management, organizational, and collaboration skills.
