Assistant Controller / Controller (Quantum AI Hardware)

Develops quantum-accelerated AI servers that combine quantum computing and AI to improve training and inference performance while addressing compute cost and energy constraints.

What you will do

• Own the accounting function day to day as the first dedicated accounting hire and number two in finance.
• Administer the general ledger and connected finance systems, complete the migration from QuickBooks, and implement scalable process improvements.
• Manage cost, WIP, inventory, and fixed-asset accounting for laboratory equipment, hardware builds, and production assets.
• Own multi-entity consolidation, multi-currency accounting, foreign exchange, intercompany transactions, and transfer pricing.
• Run monthly and quarterly close processes, targeting a 4–5 business day close, and provide reconciled actuals for management and board reporting.
• Partner with auditors and grow into full ownership of the annual audit, including workpapers, PBC management, and auditor communications.

Requirements

• Hands-on cost, WIP, inventory, and fixed-asset accounting experience in manufacturing, hardware, or another physical-product environment.
• Experience with multi-entity, multi-location, and multi-currency accounting, including consolidation and foreign-currency accounting.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with full ownership of a close cycle.
• CPA required, with a strong technical GAAP foundation.
• Experience leading or supporting an ERP or GL implementation and administering systems such as NetSuite, Campfire, Rillet, or similar platforms.
• Experience with external audits, procurement or spend-management systems, outsourced bookkeeping partners, and lean high-autonomy environments.

• Experience at a venture-backed startup that scaled toward or through an IPO.
• Exposure to SOX or ITGC readiness and public-company reporting.
• Deep-tech, quantum, or advanced-hardware manufacturing experience.
