Associate Director, Private Equity/FoF Accounting

Location: Hybrid in New York City, Boston, Atlanta, or Chicago, United States

Salary: $91,000–$190,000 annual base salary; location-specific ranges may apply, including $100,000–$185,000 in Illinois and $95,000–$190,000 in Massachusetts.

What you will do

• Manage key private equity fund client relationships and ensure timely delivery of accounting and reporting work.
• Oversee capital calls, distributions, accruals, valuation adjustments, investor allocations, and management fee calculations.
• Review fund governing documents and apply partnership terms accurately across accounting deliverables.
• Build and maintain distribution waterfall models and review financial statements, schedules, and disclosures.
• Coordinate year-end audits, tax reporting support, and other client deliverables.
• Lead, coach, and develop junior staff while coordinating timelines and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 10+ years of accounting experience focused on alternative investment funds, private equity, or fund of funds.
• 4+ years of management or supervisory experience, including experience supervising 5+ professional staff.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and other comprehensive bases of accounting, with emphasis on investment partnerships.
• Strong leadership, project management, multitasking, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office proficiency.
