Senior Loan Officer Assistant (Mortgage Lending)

Location: Remote, United States; primarily aligned with Pacific Time working hours to support the West Coast region

What you will do

• Manage assigned residential mortgage loan files from application through closing.
• Review loan documentation, Loan Estimates, Closing Disclosures, and file conditions for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
• Coordinate with borrowers, loan officers, processors, underwriters, title companies, real estate agents, and other transaction stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve routine issues, escalate complex or high-impact matters, and support complex loan scenarios.
• Track deadlines, maintain accurate loan records, update systems, and communicate status updates.
• Identify workflow improvements that enhance processing efficiency and the borrower experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• At least 3 years of mortgage industry experience as a loan officer, mortgage loan processor, loan officer assistant, or in a similar mortgage operations role.
• Knowledge of residential mortgage documentation, terminology, lending processes, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and collaborate with a team.
• Confidentiality, professionalism, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Nice to have

• Experience with Conventional, VA, and Jumbo loans.
• Mortgage originator license.
• Experience with Encompass or a similar mortgage loan system.
• Bachelor's degree.
