Research Scientist (Computer Vision)

Location: Remote; work from home, coworking spaces, or hirify.global hubs is supported.

Salary: $168,000–$255,000 annual base compensation, depending on location and level.

What you will do

• Originate and lead novel machine learning research directions for hirify.global.
• Identify open problems in computer vision and develop original theoretical approaches and algorithms.
• Design methods that generalize across diverse data, hardware targets, and problem categories.
• Publish research at leading conferences and journals.
• Partner with engineering to translate research into production systems running at scale.
• Communicate research to scientific, developer, and internal non-research audiences.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in AI, machine learning, computer vision, robotics, or a similar technical field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Publication record at conferences or journals such as CVPR, NeurIPS, or ICLR.
• Deep understanding of machine learning theory and experience turning open problems into research directions.
• Strong commitment to scientific rigor, reproducibility, and practical utility.
• Passion for computer vision, user-focused problem solving, and open source.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience optimizing models for edge hardware.
• Experience training models on distributed infrastructure.
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams to move research from prototype to production.
