Senior ML Engineer (3D Reconstruction)

Location: Remote - US, Ann Arbor, MI

Salary: $199,200–$298,800 annually, plus potential bonus and stock options.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and deploy offline 3D reconstruction, lane-line detection, and automated mapping systems using camera, lidar, radar, and GPS/IMU data.
• Reconstruct topologically correct lane-line networks from noisy and conflicting detections across multiple drives.
• Develop and train lane-line detection and creation models, including systems for unmapped areas and ongoing map updates.
• Own pose correction and diagnose calibration, drift, noise, and other sensor errors affecting reconstruction quality.
• Define architecture, standards, data governance, and quality metrics for lane-line, mapping, pose-estimation, and auto-labeling pipelines.
• Lead complex projects, make technical decisions across teams, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• 6+ years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, 3+ years with a master's degree, or 1+ years with a PhD in computer science, robotics, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• Expertise in lane-line detection and creation, lane-line network reconstruction, map creation, and map updates.
• Hands-on experience with pose correction and calibration of camera, lidar, radar, and GPS/IMU systems.
• Advanced computer vision, deep learning, active learning, pseudo-labeling, and model-training experience.
• Depth in at least two areas including 2D/3D object detection, tracking, sensor fusion, semantic segmentation, SLAM, or BEV.
• Advanced Python development and experience with PyTorch, Lightning, Ray, MLOps tooling, Parquet processing, Docker, CI systems, and cloud or VDI environments.

• PPK/RTK GPS experience.
• GIS experience.
