Linux System Administrator (Red Hat Linux)

Location: Wright-Patt AFB, OH / NASIC, Beavercreek, OH, United States. Onsite support is required in a classified environment during normal business hours, with occasional after-hours support.

What you will do

• Install, maintain, and enhance Red Hat Linux servers and network systems.
• Provide backup and recovery services while managing file systems and disk space.
• Test enterprise software updates for compatibility and reduced user impact.
• Support security safeguards, information assurance, and compliance requirements.
• Perform system and network tuning and help ensure 24/7 continuity of operations.
• Develop technical processes, procedures, best practices, and system documentation.

Requirements

• Active Top-Secret clearance with immediate SCI eligibility.
• Experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 or 10 servers in a classified environment.
• Experience installing and backing up PostgreSQL databases.
• Five years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or ten years of relevant experience without a degree.
• Knowledge of security operations, security safeguards administration, and information assurance.
• Security+ certification or a higher network security certification.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of CentOS or Rocky Linux.
• Experience with Tomcat, Apache, web servers, and PKI infrastructure.
• Experience with scripting languages and automation.
• Familiarity with load balancing, firewalls, and network tools.
