TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (Java) (Microservices/E-commerce): Building business-critical parcel creation systems and event-driven integrations across a complex distributed e-commerce and logistics platform with an accent on Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and Hexagonal Architecture. Focus on designing microservices, solving distributed-system integration challenges, and delivering independently across the full software development lifecycle with AI-assisted development tools.

Location: Remote in Poland; the final recruitment stage requires in-person attendance at the Warsaw office.

hirify.global is part of a European out-of-home delivery and e-commerce group operating intelligent parcel locker and delivery services across multiple countries.

What you will do

Design and implement microservices for business-critical parcel creation systems.
Contribute to solution architecture and architectural decisions using Hexagonal Architecture and event-driven design.
Build integrations with Kafka, Avro, and Transactional Outbox patterns.
Develop unit, integration, contract, and other automated tests across the software development lifecycle.
Participate in code reviews and maintain high code-quality standards.
Own topics end-to-end by identifying stakeholders, gathering information, implementing solutions, and supporting deployment.

Requirements

Senior-level experience with Java 21+ and Spring Boot, including MVC and/or WebFlux.
Hands-on experience with Kafka and PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB.
Understanding of Hexagonal or Clean Architecture and microservices patterns.
Experience with automated testing, including Spock or JUnit, Testcontainers, and contract testing.
Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and GitLab CI, plus OAuth2/JWT-based security.
Availability to travel to Warsaw for the in-person final recruitment stage. Proficiency with AI coding tools is required; Claude Code is the standard.

Nice to have

Experience with GitHub Copilot or Cursor.
