Tech Lead (Java)

What you will do

• Define the long-term technical roadmap, service boundaries, cross-service contracts, and data models.
• Lead, mentor, and develop engineers through code reviews, design critiques, and professional growth.
• Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions and act as the technical interface for Product and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Manage technical debt and improve system reliability, performance, resilience, automated testing, and secure-by-design practices.
• Establish coding, security, and CI/CD standards and lead complex incident investigations.
• Evaluate cloud-native technologies and adopt innovations that provide measurable business value.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in modern Java and the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring Security, and OAuth2/JWT.
• Experience with AWS or GCP/Azure, Docker, ECS/EKS, and Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Advanced relational database experience with PostgreSQL or Oracle, Flyway migrations, query optimization, and event-driven asynchronous architectures.
• Knowledge of distributed tracing, logging, metrics, OpenTelemetry, Datadog or CloudWatch, circuit breakers, idempotency, and retries.
• At least 5 years of software engineering experience, including technical leadership, Agile delivery, stakeholder communication, and mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.
• Exceptional English proficiency is required; regulated-industry experience and knowledge of KYC, AML, and customer due diligence are advantageous.

Nice to have

• Experience in a regulated industry, particularly with KYC, AML, customer due diligence, external data aggregators, and screening services.
• Experience using AI coding assistants and CLI tools while maintaining code quality and security.
