Senior Software Engineer (Java)

What you will do

• Design, develop, document, and maintain secure, scalable, high-performance backend software for lottery solutions.
• Build and maintain scalable J2EE applications, microservices, and RESTful APIs using Java 11, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
• Work with relational databases including DB2 and PostgreSQL, and implement ORM solutions with Hibernate.
• Ensure application performance, quality, responsiveness, security, and reliability through debugging and optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features, and participate in code reviews and backend project management.
• Provide training, mentoring, and coaching to coworkers and junior developers.

Requirements

• Senior-level professional experience in Java/J2EE backend development, with 5+ years building scalable, high-performance applications.
• Strong knowledge of Java 11, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, microservices, design patterns, and scalable system design.
• Experience with DB2, PostgreSQL, SQL, RESTful API design, Git, and GitHub.
• Experience with unit, integration, and performance testing using tools such as JUnit, Mockito, Gatling, or TestNG.
• Fluent written and spoken English required.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

Nice to have

• Frontend experience with Angular or AngularJS.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Agile environments.
• Knowledge of data encryption, authentication, access control, logging, and monitoring tools such as Kibana, Grafana, and Prometheus.
