Buyer 2 (Export Control)

What you will do

• Source specialised HAUV components, subassemblies, and services based on bills of materials, production plans, and engineering requests.
• Request quotations, compare and negotiate with suppliers, issue purchase orders, and manage critical and long-lead items.
• Track open orders, expedite deliveries, and resolve pricing, quality, and shipment issues with suppliers and QA.
• Classify components and products under Singapore, Malaysian, and applicable US export-control requirements.
• Prepare import, export, and strategic-goods permits, manage end-user certificates, and screen suppliers, customers, and end users against sanctions lists.
• Coordinate international shipments with freight forwarders and customs brokers, including movements between Singapore and Johor Bahru and dangerous-goods shipments involving lithium batteries.

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, International Trade, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in electronics, robotics, marine, aerospace, or defence manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with export control and customs compliance, strategic-goods permits, and TradeNet declarations.
• Understanding of dual-use and strategic-goods classification, end-user certificates, and sanctions screening.
• Experience with ERP systems and strong Excel skills; Odoo experience is a plus.
• Strong negotiation, organisation, communication, integrity, and attention to detail when working with engineers, suppliers, and compliance documentation.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Malaysia's Strategic Trade Act 2010 and US EAR/ITAR re-export requirements.
• Experience purchasing connectors, sensors, PCBs, batteries, or precision-machined parts.
• Trade compliance training or certifications and familiarity with Singapore Customs programmes such as STP or TradeFIRST.
• Familiarity with dangerous-goods shipping regulations, including IATA DGR.
