Manager, Ocean Freight

What you will do

• Manage the district’s ocean freight P&L by scaling volume, increasing yield, and driving financial performance.
• Execute trade strategy, provide market intelligence, and represent Ocean Freight in client discussions.
• Collaborate with District GMs, Sales, Business Development, Account Management, Procurement, Pricing, Allocation, and Fulfillment teams to grow the business.
• Own district tenders and RFQs, fine-tune client sell rates and margins, and develop customized go-to-market strategies.
• Monitor bookings, allocations, utilization, forecasting, quoting, invoicing, and dispute escalation.
• Develop carrier relationships, support local procurement, and identify opportunities across rates, capacity, and new growth trades.

Requirements

• 5+ years of ocean freight experience at a leading freight forwarder or carrier, or 5+ years of supply chain experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field if pursuing the supply chain experience path.
• Strategic vision combined with hands-on execution and a data-driven, structured approach.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with a strong focus on client outcomes.
• Ability to travel regionally.
• Ability and willingness to challenge existing processes and lead, train, and develop talent.
