Research Analyst (Tokenomics)

Location: San Francisco preferred; remote work is also available. Employment eligibility verification is required for newly hired employees through E-Verify.

What you will do

• Write research reports for institutional clients and public newsletters.
• Develop and execute independent research ideas from end to end.
• Run experiments to evaluate hardware and AI system performance.
• Analyze pricing trends, inference endpoints, model releases, compute allocation, and AI adoption.
• Build benchmarks and datasets for model, infrastructure, and provider comparisons.
• Collaborate with Datacenter, Semiconductor, Systems, and Engineering teams.

Requirements

• Strong ability to independently generate and execute research ideas.
• Basic technical understanding of LLM inference, including how a forward pass maps onto hardware.
• Active interest in AI developments and industry discussions.
• Exceptional writing skills and the ability to explain complex technical subjects to a generalist audience.
• Motivation to build a meaningful long-term career through research.

Nice to have

• Interest or expertise in frontier AI labs, hyperscalers, inference providers, model economics, and AI adoption.
• Experience with model architecture, hardware performance, serving infrastructure, AI system economics, forecasting, or market sizing.
