Software Engineer (Robotics)

hirify.global is a growing startup developing social robots and platform technologies for human-robot interaction and conversational experiences.

What you will do

• Maintain and advance the Furhat platform, including the operating system, SDK, onboard software, and cloud services.
• Design customer-facing APIs and ship software for both installed devices and cloud environments.
• Make architecture and technology adoption decisions and contribute to roadmap design and backlog prioritization.
• Ensure platform performance, maintainability, reliability, and customer impact.
• Support customers and sales teams while driving design meetings and agile processes in a cross-functional team.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of professional software development experience.
• Professional experience with Java, DevOps, cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure, or AWS, and Linux systems, preferably Ubuntu.
• Experience shipping and maintaining both installed-on-device and cloud-based software.
• Experience debugging complex distributed systems and designing, implementing, and maintaining customer-facing APIs.
• Familiarity with relational and document-based databases, front-end programming, functional programming, and object-oriented programming.
• Strong communication and problem-decomposition skills for a global, hybrid workplace environment.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with chatbots, conversational agents, user interface design, C++, Kotlin, Docker, Bash, or systemd.
