SURF Structures Engineer

Location: London, United Kingdom. Residential schedule, 5 days per week; frequent business travel and project missions may be required.

What you will do

• Lead subsea structures engineering activities across the EPSCC phases.
• Oversee the design and delivery of FLETs, ILTs, foundations, pipe supports, sleepers, anchoring piles, and pipe-walking mitigation structures.
• Review engineering studies, drawings, specifications, calculations, procedures, installation analyses, and technical documentation.
• Monitor procurement, fabrication, transportation, installation, and pre-commissioning activities.
• Supervise contractors, suppliers, and fabrication yards while addressing technical deviations, constructability issues, and schedule risks.
• Coordinate interfaces with SURF Installation, SPS, FPSO, fabrication, field operations, and external contractor teams.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in subsea structures engineering, including detailed design and fabrication.
• Experience with large offshore Oil & Gas SURF deepwater EPCI projects.
• Strong expertise in FLETs, ILTs, subsea foundations, pipe supports, sleepers, and anchoring systems.
• Knowledge of DNV, ASME, API, and ISO standards, plus experience with ANSYS, Abaqus, SACS, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and OrcaFlex.
• English is required; the role is based in the United Kingdom with a residential working schedule.

Nice to have

• Experience with geotechnical engineering applied to subsea structures.
• Experience integrating subsea connectors, MQC plates, electrical harnesses, e-SCM, electrical actuators, and dosing valves.

• The project includes an FPSO designed for approximately 160,000 barrels of oil per day, in water depths of approximately 3,000 metres, with up to 40 subsea wells.
