OT Systems Subject Matter Expert (AI)

Location: Remote across Europe, with specified locations in Finland, France, Germany, Norway, and Spain

Salary: £150,000–£170,000 per year in the United Kingdom, plus potential equity and discretionary bonus

hirify.global is building a vertically integrated AI infrastructure platform spanning capital, data centre clusters, and software, with AI factories across Europe and North America.

What you will do

• Set OT standards, reference architectures, design guidelines, naming conventions, templates, and graphics for AI factory sites.
• Review OT designs, control philosophies, points lists, sequences of operation, and integrated commissioning tests for BMS, EPMS, SCADA, PLC, and DCIM systems.
• Implement OT cybersecurity controls covering network segmentation, access management, patching, backups, vulnerability management, and secure remote access.
• Maintain OT asset inventories, network documentation, configuration baselines, and change-management processes across multiple sites.
• Provide escalation support for incidents, lead root cause analysis, manage vendors and integrators, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Support OT/IT integration, resilience planning, alarm rationalisation, energy and PUE optimisation, operational readiness, and team training.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in OT, industrial controls, or building automation, including at least 3 years in mission-critical environments.
• Hands-on experience with BMS, EPMS, SCADA, PLC, and DCIM design, integration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience delivering OT scope through design, construction, commissioning, and handover of critical facilities.
• Knowledge of OT cybersecurity frameworks, industrial and building protocols including Modbus, BACnet, SNMP, and IEC 61850.
• Understanding of data centre infrastructure including MV/LV distribution, UPS systems, generators, chillers, CRAH/CRAC systems, and fire detection.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in electrical, control, automation, mechatronics, or computer engineering; background screening and right-to-work verification are required.

Nice to have

• Vendor certifications for Schneider Electric, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, or similar BMS, EPMS, or SCADA platforms.
• Data centre certifications such as CDCP, CDCS, Uptime Institute ATD, or AOM.
