Modernization Engineer/FDE (Mainframe)

Location: Wroclaw, Lower Silesian, Poland; partially remote

What you will do

• Define, assess, and prioritize mainframe modernization roadmaps based on cost and risk.
• Design software frameworks, systems, interfaces, and business application prototypes.
• Identify and resolve weaknesses in framework and application designs.
• Provide technical leadership to application development teams and conduct design and code reviews.
• Align architecture with business requirements and project goals.
• Create and maintain architecture, integration, testing, and application design documentation.

Requirements

• Experience architecting large customer change and transformation projects.
• In-depth knowledge of hardware, software, and connectivity between platforms.
• Strong understanding of z/OS, IBM software products, and third-party mainframe software.
• Experience working in a mainframe environment and with modernization, integration, or migration-off-mainframe projects.

Nice to have

• The Open Group Master Certified Architect certification or equivalent.
