Data Engineer, Manager (FinTech)

What you will do

• Manage data warehouses, data-sharing platforms, and related data environments, contributing to hands-on development when needed.
• Oversee data usage processes and clarify requirements with business, data science, and software development stakeholders.
• Define and enforce data warehousing engineering standards covering versioning, quality, testing, deployment, and post-deployment support.
• Ensure data domain quality, pipeline reliability, automation uptime, and security across data pipelines.
• Lead system knowledge management, team resourcing, performance management, capacity management, hiring, onboarding, and career development.
• Manage data and report migration activities and deliver reliable, timely data for end users.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience with SQL, data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing.
• At least 5 years maintaining data warehouses and performing large-scale data transformation using EMR, Hadoop, Hive, or comparable big data technologies.
• Experience mentoring, managing, and hiring data engineering talent.
• Experience with hardware provisioning, capacity forecasting, and budget management.
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to engage with business and technical audiences.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Python, Ruby, Scala, or Java.
