What you will do
- Architect, build, and own production data pipelines and storage systems for large-scale financial datasets from providers such as ICE, Bloomberg, LSEG, BlackRock, Clearwater, and external managers.
- Manage in-house data stewardship, governance, controls, and comprehensive documentation across the pipeline lifecycle.
- Design and support scalable production APIs and service-based architectures using FastAPI.
- Develop test plans, non-regression testing, and data validation frameworks to ensure reliable and accurate investment data.
- Champion code quality, CI/CD with GitHub Actions, observability, and monitoring across data and platform systems.
- Partner with quantitative researchers and engineers to translate portfolio analytics needs into production-grade data architecture.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a closely related discipline, including ownership of production-grade data platforms.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and large-scale ETL or data pipeline architecture.
- Experience with DEV/STAGE/PROD deployment practices, CI/CD pipelines, and production observability.
- Experience supporting backend APIs, preferably FastAPI or an equivalent framework.
- Experience with data quality assurance, non-regression testing, troubleshooting, and data validation frameworks.
Nice to have
- Experience in financial, banking, or asset-management companies.
- Experience with AI, including RAG systems, document intelligence, or agentic workflows.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake and Databricks.
- BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
