Staff Data Scientist, Algorithm, Growth (AI)

Location: Seattle; hybrid work with three days per week in the office

Salary: $250,000–$299,000 base pay annually, plus potential equity and bonus.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and iterate on predictive models, personalization and recommendation systems, LLM-powered applications, incentive optimization frameworks, and causal inference models.
• Build scalable data science systems that improve customer acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, and expansion.
• Partner with Growth, Marketing, Product, Sales, and Engineering to turn data and AI into recommendations and go-to-market decisions.
• Measure the causal impact of marketing and growth initiatives and translate findings into action.
• Build AI analytics harnesses with semantic layers, context retrieval, evaluation infrastructure, validation gates, and governance.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership, mentorship, and long-term direction for the data science team.

Requirements

• 7+ years of industry experience and an advanced degree such as a PhD or MS in a quantitative field.
• Expert knowledge of machine learning and statistical modeling for data-driven growth strategy.
• Experience building, deploying, and maintaining production machine learning models in cloud-based, real-time, or batch systems.
• Strong experience with SQL and Python.
• Experience applying machine learning and statistical models to measure the causal impact of marketing or growth initiatives.
• Strong experience with AI harnesses and building AI agents.
