Senior Data Scientist (Fintech)

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States. Hybrid work is required, with onsite attendance Tuesday through Thursday each week and additional office attendance possible based on business needs.

Starting base salary: $176,000–$220,000 USD annually. Equity is part of total compensation.

What you will do

• Analyze customer journeys, behavioral patterns, and funnel performance to identify opportunities across activation, conversion, engagement, and retention.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to design experiments, define success metrics and guardrails, guide instrumentation, and evaluate results.
• Establish reusable standards for experiment design, analysis, and evidence-based decision-making.
• Connect acquisition channels, campaigns, targeting, and messaging with downstream product behavior and customer experiences.
• Apply causal inference, statistical modeling, and segmentation to investigate business outcomes and estimate intervention impact.
• Communicate insights, uncertainty, and tradeoffs while influencing product roadmaps and investment decisions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Product Analytics, Data Science, Decision Science, or a related analytical role.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large-scale datasets.
• Experience designing, executing, and analyzing experiments and A/B tests.
• Strong knowledge of statistical methods, hypothesis testing, statistical inference, and causal inference.
• Proficiency in Python or R for analysis and statistical modeling.
• Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Business teams, mentoring analysts or data scientists, and communicating analytical findings clearly.

Nice to have

• Experience in fintech, payments, banking, lending, financial services, or another regulated industry.
• Experience with product metrics frameworks, data modeling, data warehousing, and analytics engineering.
• Experience measuring or optimizing AI-powered products and exposure to machine learning and AI applications.
• Experience with Tableau, Mode, Power BI, or similar analytics and visualization tools.
