Principal Solutions Architect (AI)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States; primarily office-based.

Salary: $175,400–$283,800 per year, with potential bonus and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end architecture for enterprise AI initiatives, embedding generative AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, intelligent automation, LLMs, and agentic workflows into business operations and products.
• Translate business strategy into unified AI architecture in partnership with Product, Engineering, Data, Security, and IT leaders.
• Design integrations across data lakes, CRM and ERP systems, cloud infrastructure, APIs, event-driven architectures, data pipelines, and user-facing applications.
• Establish architecture practices covering responsible AI, data privacy, security, high availability, performance, and scalable ML pipelines.
• Identify dependencies, risks, and synergies across technical domains and fragmented data sources.
• Mentor architects, data scientists, and machine learning engineers while remaining hands-on from solution design through production deployment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field with 15+ years of relevant experience, or a related Ph.D. with 10+ years of experience.
• Profound knowledge of AI/ML, generative AI, natural language processing, deep learning, and applying AI to complex business problems.
• Experience designing complex AI integrations, model orchestration, data pipelines, and scalable machine learning models for production.
• Strong executive communication skills, autonomy, systems thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to work primarily from the Santa Clara office in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLMs, agentic frameworks, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, and vector databases.
• AWS, GCP, or Azure architecture certifications focused on data and machine learning.
• Experience deploying AI in high-volume, highly regulated, or complex data environments.
• Experience building AI-native applications, integrating foundation models with legacy platforms, and applying Agile methods to AI lifecycles.
• Previous Principal- or Director-level ownership of an enterprise AI capability.
