What you will do

• Administer Tableau Server as the sole BI platform administrator, including upgrades, patches, maintenance, licensing, SSO, and data drivers.
• Support 12 department sites, site administrators, and approximately 700 users through Slack and Jira.
• Resolve access, ownership, data source, troubleshooting, and dashboard issues while communicating about outages and upgrades.
• Design and rapidly build dashboards and data products that turn complex data into clear, decision-ready insights.
• Inventory existing reports and dashboards, determining what to migrate, rebuild, or retire.
• Define standards for data access, row-level security, visualization quality, and the selection of dashboards, custom applications, or AI tools.

Requirements

• Strong SQL skills, including complex joins, window functions, and performance tuning.
• Experience with data visualization, dashboard design, chart selection, UX, and data storytelling.
• Knowledge of row-level security, data access controls, and rapid dashboard development in Tableau, Looker, Power BI, Superset, or a similar BI tool.
• Understanding of SSO/SAML, APIs, monitoring, and BI platform administration.
• Comfort using AI tools to accelerate analysis, development, and migrations.

Nice to have

• Experience with data modeling and warehouse concepts such as star schemas and semantic layers on BigQuery, Snowflake, or Databricks.
• Python or JavaScript experience for data preparation, automation, or custom visualizations.
