Infrastructure Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in San Francisco or New York, with 3+ days per week in-office from Tuesday through Thursday

Base salary: $200,000–$250,000 per year, depending on experience, location, and level; equity and benefits are also provided.

What you will do

• Own portable reference architectures across hirify.global-hosted, customer VPC, and on-premises deployments, including control-plane and data-plane boundaries.
• Deploy and upgrade the AI platform using infrastructure as code, Docker, Kubernetes, and shared CI/CD tooling across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Build provisioning services, controllers, reusable deployment APIs, and AI-assisted workflows in Python or Go.
• Own customer deployments from discovery through production acceptance, managing communication, dependencies, risks, and technical tradeoffs.
• Implement security and reliability controls including network segmentation, data residency, audit trails, SLOs, observability, alerting, disaster recovery, and incident response.
• Set delivery standards, mentor engineers, and turn customer deployment lessons into reusable systems and product improvements.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud engineering, SRE, or related technical delivery roles.
• Deep production experience with one of AWS, Azure, or GCP, plus working experience with a second cloud.
• Hands-on experience with networking, IAM, Docker, Kubernetes, observability, workload identity, scoped credentials, and resource limits.
• Production experience with infrastructure as code and strong Python or Go skills for building infrastructure software.
• Customer-facing engineering experience with responsibility for technical delivery, stakeholder communication, requirements clarification, and scope negotiation.
• Experience delivering production systems under strict access, security, network, and change controls, including private registries or restricted egress.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling infrastructure delivery across enterprise customer environments and multiple clouds.
• Experience with on-premises installations, upgrades, offline operation, or replacing cloud-managed dependencies.
• Experience with agent sandboxing or technical AI governance, including model access, routing, data handling, and audit controls.
• Experience setting technical direction and leading adoption of reusable systems and standards across teams.
