Staff Infrastructure Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in the United States; must be commutable to the San Francisco office and work in person 3–4 days per week, with required attendance on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Locations listed: San Francisco and NYC.

Salary: $240K–$285K annually, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Scale the CI platform as the orchestration layer for the software factory.
• Build deployment systems that reduce the operational burden on engineering teams.
• Design guardrails, validation, and automated approval paths for infrastructure-as-code changes.
• Develop tools, access controls, and workflows that enable engineers and AI agents to investigate and resolve incidents across application, service, compute, storage, and network layers.
• Own SLOs, codify monitoring in Terraform, and improve alert quality across the organization.
• Write technical designs, review complex changes, set platform direction, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including several years in infrastructure, platform, or developer experience.
• Staff-level ownership of a platform or build and deployment system used by many engineers, with measurable improvements in velocity or reliability.
• Hands-on experience with a major public cloud, preferably AWS, and production Kubernetes operations.
• Strong experience with Terraform, GitOps delivery, and ArgoCD or a similar tool.
• Experience designing CI/CD at scale, including pipeline standardization, self-hosted runners, build caching, progressive delivery, and safe rollbacks.
• Experience defining SLOs, improving alerting, and integrating AI tooling meaningfully into development workflows.
