Senior Data Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. hirify.global does not provide employment visa sponsorship.

Base pay: $100,000–$130,000 per year, with eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Build and operate scalable batch and real-time streaming pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, and database applications.
• Design dimensional models and reusable datasets for business, analytics, and data science teams.
• Improve reliability through automated quality checks, freshness monitoring, performance tuning, cost optimization, and incident response.
• Create reusable engineering frameworks, automated tests, deployment patterns, documentation, runbooks, and technical standards.
• Partner with business, analytics, product, infrastructure, and engineering teams to define requirements and roadmap priorities.
• Apply AI tools to coding, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting while validating results and protecting sensitive data.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience delivering and supporting production solutions.
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex query development, tuning, debugging, and data analysis.
• Experience with data lakes, data warehouses, distributed platforms, and batch and streaming integration patterns.
• Strong dimensional modeling and data warehousing knowledge, including fact tables, dimension tables, grain, and historical changes.
• Ability to deliver independently in an Agile environment using testing, version control, documentation, and systematic troubleshooting.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Snowflake, SQL Server, Matillion, dbt, or similar data integration and transformation tools.
• Python, C#, PowerShell, Git, GitLab, and CI/CD experience.
• Power BI, Tableau, Streamlit, or related dashboard and data application experience.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or Maia.
• Education in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
