Product Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Foster City, California, United States. Hybrid role with an in-office requirement on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Base salary: $210,000–$350,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Design and analyze product experiments for feature launches, onboarding changes, pricing, and in-product interventions.
• Own analytics for growth, activation, engagement, monetization, retention, feature adoption, product quality, and AI agent effectiveness.
• Build analytical foundations for the enterprise business by studying team adoption, collaboration dynamics, rollout success, and expansion signals.
• Develop predictive models that forecast retention, conversion, expansion, and the impact of new features.
• Identify early user behaviors that predict long-term retention and use the findings to improve onboarding.
• Analyze cohorts and user segments to support product roadmap and go-to-market decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent real-world experience.
• 5+ years of experience in data science focused on product analytics, growth, or user behavior.
• Strong SQL skills, experience with large event-level datasets, and proficiency in Python and data science libraries.
• Experience designing ETL workflows with dbt and working with modern data stack or product analytics tools.
• Experience with A/B testing, sample sizing, power analysis, significance testing, novelty effects, experiment interference, and causal inference.
• Ability to work from the Foster City, California office on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Nice to have

• Experience at a product-led growth company with self-serve, freemium, or usage-based pricing.
• Experience with causal inference methods such as difference-in-differences, synthetic control, and propensity score matching.
• Experience building AI-powered analytical tools, automation, or novel measurement approaches.
• Understanding of developer tools, collaborative coding environments, customer data platforms, and event tracking.
• Experience working directly with product teams in an agile environment.
