Information Technology Specialists (Federal IT)

What you will do

• Monitor and maintain internal and public-facing networks, VLANs, VPNs, Wi-Fi, and visitor connectivity.
• Perform backups, restorations, patching, software updates, data-protection activities, and routine system maintenance.
• Support user accounts, permissions, onboarding, offboarding, cloud storage, and SaaS platforms.
• Maintain and troubleshoot gallery, theater, presentation, streaming, lighting-control, media-server, kiosk, sensor, and interactive technology systems.
• Investigate hardware, software, AV, and network failures while supporting special events and public programs.
• Collaborate with technical and nontechnical personnel to resolve issues and maintain accessibility features during system updates.

Requirements

• Three to six years of systems administration or technical support experience.
• Experience supporting both Windows and macOS environments.
• Hands-on experience with VLANs, VPNs, and robust Wi-Fi mesh networks.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, threat mitigation, firewalls, and data encryption.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing computer hardware and related technical equipment, with strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Successful completion of required Federal background and suitability screening.

Nice to have

• Experience in museums, libraries, galleries, public attractions, or other high-uptime environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or relevant professional experience and certifications.
• CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, AWS, Azure, or Google Workspace Administration certification.
• Digital Asset Management, collection database, AV integration, disaster recovery, or nontechnical-user training experience.
