Sr. Databricks Solutions Architect

Location: Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, United States; Huntsville, Alabama. The position requires a US Top Secret Clearance and up to 30% travel for customer engagements. The role is contingent upon contract award.

What you will do

• Lead customer engagements designing, building, and optimizing Databricks architectures for advanced analytics, data engineering, and machine learning workloads.
• Develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and integrate Databricks environments with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Advise customers on data governance, security, compliance, reference architectures, and Databricks best practices.
• Productionize data pipelines, machine learning workflows, and AI-driven applications while improving performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.
• Provide escalated technical support, troubleshoot complex platform and workflow issues, and document technical designs and deployment procedures.
• Coordinate with customers, Databricks, engineers, architects, project managers, and customer success teams to deliver consulting and managed services engagements.

Requirements

• US Top Secret Clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• 7+ years of data engineering experience and 10+ years of consulting experience, preferably in data platforms or analytics.
• Experience completing 6–8 hands-on Databricks projects in production, including Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, and cloud integration.
• Strong Python and/or SQL skills, with deep knowledge of distributed computing, Apache Spark internals, data modeling, performance tuning, and production-grade pipelines.
• Experience working directly with customers, managing technical scope and delivery, and willingness to travel up to 30%.

Nice to have

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience with MLOps, CI/CD, Git, infrastructure-as-code, and streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Event Hubs.
• Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, Looker, and compliance frameworks including HIPAA, FedRAMP, or SOC2.
• Enterprise consulting experience, technical project delivery, documentation, whiteboarding, and customer presentations.
