Data Architect – Securities Services

Location: Chicago, IL, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employment-based visa sponsorship.

Salary: $137,400–$233,600 USD annual base pay

What you will do

• Define and maintain the target-state data architecture for the Securities Services portfolio.
• Develop enterprise, domain, and canonical data models for custody, settlements, entitlements, reconciliations, regulatory reporting, and asset servicing.
• Establish data architecture standards, governance frameworks, metadata, lineage, and data quality strategies.
• Design scalable integration patterns using event-driven architecture, APIs, messaging, streaming, and cloud-native technologies.
• Partner with business, product, engineering, architecture, and senior technology stakeholders on modernization initiatives and strategic platform decisions.
• Lead architecture reviews and ensure data platforms support operational, analytical, regulatory, and client reporting needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in data architecture, information architecture, data management, or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of Securities Services, custody, settlements, accounting, reconciliations, asset servicing, or capital markets operations.
• Expertise in data modeling, data governance, metadata management, reference and master data, and data quality frameworks.
• Experience designing cloud-based data platforms, data lakes or lakehouses, and event-driven architectures.
• U.S. work authorization without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with Data Mesh and domain-driven data architectures.
• Experience with Azure, Databricks, Kafka, Solace, and modern data platforms.
• Familiarity with financial services regulatory and data management requirements.
• Experience supporting large-scale transformation and modernization programs.
