Appraiser (Real Estate)

Location: Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Columbus, Ohio, United States; remote role with periodic fieldwork at properties and construction or remote sites.

What you will do

• Select comparable properties, analyze market data, and complete residential valuations using appropriate valuation techniques and methodologies.
• Produce accurate, high-quality appraisal reports and maintain strong customer service when communicating with the operating team and client contacts.
• Manage daily activities and assignment capacity independently while conducting required property fieldwork.
• Maintain continuing education and credentialization requirements and remain open to mentorship from Senior Appraisers.
• Occasionally work with Trainees and recommend improvements to business operations and data-collection methods.
• Advise management and engineering executives on product decisions, process flows, and compensation plans as needed.

Requirements

• Certified residential appraiser with an understanding of valuation techniques and the ability to complete valuations for most property types and complexities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
• High proficiency with technology, including software, apps, and databases.
• Ability to work independently, use personal judgment, and perform reliable residential valuations at a proficient level.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and effective time-management ability.
• Self-motivated and ambitious, with a strong desire to learn and grow in the industry.
• Valid driver's license for conducting fieldwork.
• Ability to communicate orally, sit, use equipment such as cameras, laptops, and measuring tapes, occasionally transport up to 50 pounds, and stand and walk significant distances on uneven or icy ground.
• Comfort working outdoors for extended periods in all seasons and weather conditions.
