Product Designer (Fintech)

Location: New York City, United States; hybrid work arrangement.

Salary: $190,000–$250,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Partner with Product and Engineering to identify high-impact opportunities based on customer needs, business goals, research, data, and product insights.
• Lead complex, ambiguous initiatives from problem discovery and concept exploration through interaction design, prototyping, delivery, launch, and iteration.
• Translate complex financial products and regulated workflows into simple, intuitive, accessible, and engaging experiences.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers on tradeoffs, implementation quality, stakeholder alignment, and product outcomes.
• Set a high bar for UX craft, mentor teammates, contribute to design critiques, and improve design practices and systems.
• Experiment with AI-assisted tools and new workflows to accelerate discovery, prototyping, and execution without compromising quality.

Requirements

• 7+ years of product design experience leading complex, high-impact initiatives from discovery through launch and iteration.
• Exceptional UX and interaction design skills, strong product judgment, and a pragmatic, iterative approach.
• Ability to independently frame problems, influence product direction, communicate design rationale, and build alignment with stakeholders.
• Strong partnership skills for navigating ambiguity, evaluating tradeoffs, and prioritizing solutions based on impact and effort.
• Experience with Figma, Storybook, design tokens, and frontend component libraries such as React and TypeScript.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setup in New York City, United States.

• Experience designing complex financial products, consumer fintech experiences, or regulated workflows.
• Experience in fast-moving, high-growth startup environments.
• Experience evolving design systems and familiarity with experimentation, product analytics, and research-driven design.
• Experience using AI-assisted design, prototyping, or development tools.
