Network Automation Engineer (Python)

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $100,000–$160,000 annually

What you will do

• Build production-grade automation for network configuration, change management, and observability across multi-vendor enterprise networks.
• Develop Python automation using modern network APIs, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD practices.
• Translate ambiguous requirements into reliable solutions with product, design, engineering, operations, and business stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews and design reviews while mentoring more junior engineers.
• Apply software engineering discipline to network operations and deliver production-ready systems.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen, Green Card holder, EAD holder, or H-1B transfer candidate.
• New H-1B visa sponsorship is not available.
• 10+ years of network automation experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field.
• Strong Python development skills, including object-oriented programming, testing, and packaging.
• Deep networking knowledge covering routing, switching, BGP, Netmiko, NAPALM, Nornir, Scrapli, NETCONF, RESTCONF, gNMI, Ansible, Jinja2, NetBox or Nautobot, Git, and CI/CD.

Nice to have

• Cisco DevNet or vendor automation certifications.
• Experience with Cisco, Arista, and Juniper multi-vendor networks.
• Streaming telemetry, modern observability stacks, or open-source network automation contributions.
• Cloud networking automation experience alongside on-premises networking.
