Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (Technical Data Architect)

Location: London, United Kingdom — Hybrid; travel to customers 20% of the time.

What you will do

• Build and productionize customer solutions for data and AI challenges using the Databricks platform.
• Own architecture and lead design decisions for secure, scalable, production-grade systems.
• Design and deliver data pipelines, custom applications, reference architectures, and ML/AI model integrations.
• Guide enterprise customers through implementation, evaluation, adoption, training, and technical enablement.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, support, project management, architects, and customer teams.
• Create reusable accelerators, frameworks, and best practices that scale across customer accounts.

Requirements

• Experience in data engineering, data platforms and analytics, software engineering, or full-stack development.
• Comfort writing code in Python, Scala, JavaScript, or TypeScript and working with modern frameworks.
• Working knowledge of at least two cloud ecosystems among AWS, Azure, and GCP, with expertise in one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark, including Spark runtime internals.
• Experience with CI/CD, MLOps, ML/AI models and APIs, and production end-to-end data architectures.
• Experience delivering technical projects for enterprise clients, managing scope and timelines, and communicating with broad stakeholder groups.
