Data Management Expert (Data & AI)

Location: Madrid (Vía de los Poblados), Spain; hybrid work with agreed days in the ING office and from home

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end development of information use cases for reporting and analytics.
• Build, define, and deploy the data platform and provide information to business stakeholders.
• Apply data modeling expertise to translate operational business requirements into information mappings for development teams.
• Define requirements for Functional Data Architecture and the Data Management Framework, including metadata, glossary, data quality, governance, and ways of working.
• Define readiness, completion, and acceptance criteria for user stories in collaboration with the squad.
• Work with customers and key stakeholders on data vision, strategy, roadmap, and change initiatives.

Requirements

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of professional experience.
• Proven experience with Data Lake and Data Warehousing platforms, including Data Mart modeling, ETL processes, reporting, performance improvement, and data quality monitoring.
• Knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks.
• Knowledge of reporting tools such as MicroStrategy, IBM Cognos, or Power BI.
• Knowledge of Data Fabric, Data Mesh, and Data Virtualization trends.
• More than 2–3 years of Agile experience, strong analytical and judgment skills, and advanced English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience defining data platforms strategically and connecting data initiatives with business strategy.
• Experience working across squads and chapters in multidisciplinary environments.
