Intern, Data Engineering (Fintech)

Location: Barcelona, Spain. Hybrid working model combining onsite collaboration and remote work; an additional 25 days per year may be worked from a city or country of choice.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain ETL pipelines for data ingestion and transformation using Python and SQL.
• Develop clean datasets and data models for analysts, business stakeholders, and decision-makers.
• Apply version control, automated testing, code reviews, and CI/CD workflows.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, and Finance to convert business requirements into data solutions.
• Own data engineering workflows and project deliverables with guidance from experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Foundational background in Computer Science or completion of a relevant coding bootcamp focused on data engineering.
• Practical experience writing Python scripts and SQL queries through projects, coursework, or practical training.
• Understanding of core data engineering concepts and basic exposure to cloud environments, preferably AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Strong motivation to learn, ask questions, receive feedback, and solve engineering problems.
• Fluent English and strong communication skills for collaboration with analysts and engineers.
