Backend / Fullstack Software Engineer (Python)

What you will do

• Build features for analytics products including Apache Superset, AI for Data Chat, and Notebooks.
• Develop integrations between analytics tools and the data platform ecosystem, including metric infrastructure, data management systems, and data warehouse services.
• Collaborate with the Apache Superset open-source community and contribute code, releases, and improvements.
• Engage with product users, gather feedback, and drive projects, feature rollouts, and migrations end to end.
• Improve testability, observability, reliability, and overall technical quality through architecture work and code reviews.
• Provide lightweight on-call support for team operations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant full-time industry experience.
• Strong experience building backend services with Python.
• Frontend development experience with HTML, CSS, TypeScript, JavaScript, and modern frameworks such as React.
• Ability to build robust systems with strong quality, observability, and reliability standards.
• Ability to lead cross-functional projects or migrations involving partner teams and users.
• Experience with data, SQL, data engineering, or big data technologies is beneficial.

Nice to have

• Experience with Airflow, Spark, Trino, or similar big data technologies.
• Background in internal application development, data infrastructure, or analytics engineering.
