Senior Ruby on Rails Developer (Fintech)

Location: Remote in Poland or the USA; offices listed in Warsaw, Poznań, Wrocław, Rzeszów, and Gdańsk

What you will do

• Design, estimate, and implement functionality for a large-scale, high-availability financial products platform.
• Translate business requirements into technical tasks and collaborate with funding, API, client application, and document-generation teams.
• Refactor and review code across teams while maintaining high code coverage through TDD, pair programming, and code review.
• Handle production issues in a rotating support schedule approximately every four weeks, including bug fixes, performance optimization, and dependency updates.
• Create technical documentation and lead smaller internal projects.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial experience in Ruby or backend development.
• Experience with large databases, zero-downtime migrations, and SQL query optimization.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to design system architecture based on business requirements.
• Communicative English is required for meetings and documentation.
• Independence and a strong sense of responsibility in team collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kafka or other event-driven queues.
• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, or similar monitoring and logging tools.
• Experience with AWS, including S3 and SQS.
• Knowledge of Service Objects, CQRS, Command Pattern, and Dependency Injection.
