Intern, Finance Analytics

Location: Rochester, New York, United States; primary work environment is a professional corporate office with occasional domestic and international travel.

Salary: $19.00–$29.50 per hour

What you will do

• Collaborate with BI engineers and stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver analytic data products.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, data quality checks, and automated analytics solutions.
• Build and maintain data architecture and end-to-end pipelines aligned with data engineering principles.
• Create technical and project documentation using Jira, Confluence, Git, and related tools.
• Investigate and remediate data and system issues in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

Requirements

• Pursuing education in computer science, mathematics, physics, or an equivalent field.
• Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Self-direction, initiative, ownership, flexibility, and the ability to manage multiple activities.
• Knowledge of SQL and data analysis, with experience in at least one programming language; Python is preferred.
• Experience or familiarity with data pipelines, ETL, dimensional modeling, data warehousing, data governance, and reporting tools.
• Ability to work in a corporate office environment, sit at a computer for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and travel commercially.

Nice to have

• Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical details.
• Experience with Git, Jira, Confluence, Tableau, Power BI, or MicroStrategy.
• Experience managing exceptions and providing support in transaction processing environments.
