Senior Financial Management and Data Analytics Consultant

Salary: $115,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Operate and improve a financial management and budgeting application, including workflow monitoring, user support, issue follow-up, and operational continuity.
• Track defects, enhancement needs, risks, dependencies, decisions, and open actions through resolution with client and technical stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, process maps, desk guides, job aids, and other system documentation.
• Support user training, demonstrations, onboarding, knowledge transfer, and change communications.
• Extract, validate, reconcile, and analyze financial and operational data; produce reports, dashboards, visualizations, and briefing materials.
• Gather requirements, facilitate working sessions, communicate risks and status, and coordinate delivery across financial managers, developers, analysts, and leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, public administration, information systems, data analytics, or a related field.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in federal financial management, financial systems, business process analysis, data analytics, management consulting, or a related discipline.
• Experience developing and maintaining SOPs, process documentation, job aids, or system user guidance.
• Experience supporting a financial, budgeting, grants, or enterprise business application and validating, reconciling, interpreting, and presenting complex datasets.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with PowerPoint and Word.
• Ability to satisfy applicable federal suitability, credentialing, and system-access requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting HHS, NIH, NHLBI, or another federal health or scientific research organization.
• Knowledge of federal budget formulation, budget execution, appropriations, funds control, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or comparable business intelligence and data-query tools.
• Experience with business requirements, user acceptance testing, application enhancements, defect resolution, audits, data governance, or executive-level reporting.
• Master’s degree or certifications such as CGFM, PMP, CPA, or a data analytics credential.
