Business Risk Partner, Investment Banking & Institutional Broker-Dealer (Investment Banking Risk)

Salary: $118,200–$197,000 annual USD

What you will do

• Lead first-line-of-defense risk management planning, execution, documentation, and reporting for the investment banking and institutional broker-dealer businesses.
• Drive risk-based control testing and review and approve test results in line with internal guidance and professional standards.
• Monitor key risk indicators, risk control self-assessments, loss events, emerging risks, and issues requiring escalation.
• Oversee risk reporting to business management, scenario management, internal risk committees, and the Markets, Products and Services Risk Committee.
• Develop and maintain business-unit risk policies, including updates required by federal, state, or process changes.
• Coach and mentor staff and collaborate with business management, Internal Audit, Corporate Operational Risk, and Corporate Compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of relevant experience, or 11 years of combined higher education and work experience including at least 7 years of relevant experience.
• Experience managing business-unit risk within an enterprise risk framework.
• Knowledge of risk assessment, internal controls, control testing, KRIs, RCSAs, issue remediation, and risk-event reporting.
• Ability to work in a hybrid position based in Baltimore, Maryland, United States of America.
• Ability to partner with investment banking leadership, internal audit, operational risk, compliance, and risk committees.

Nice to have

• Investment bank risk experience involving syndicated loans, loan trading, institutional equity or fixed-income trading, foreign exchange, interest-rate derivatives, or trade finance.
• Knowledge of FINRA and SEC requirements.
