Project Manager, R&D (Medical Devices)

Location: Deerfield, Illinois, United States; hybrid work with a required minimum number of onsite days

Estimated base salary: $128,000–$176,000 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

• Lead strategic, cross-functional projects supporting business growth, product development, and operational excellence.
• Coordinate engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, finance, regulatory, and commercial stakeholders.
• Develop and execute project plans covering scope, schedule, budget, resources, and business objectives.
• Drive data-informed decisions through financial analysis, resource planning, market insights, and investment evaluations.
• Manage risks, mitigation strategies, product lifecycle processes, stage-gate milestones, and successful launches.
• Partner with senior leaders to secure alignment, accelerate execution, and improve organizational effectiveness.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 8+ years of related experience, or a Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience.
• 5+ years of project management experience leading complex, multi-site initiatives.
• Experience in regulated industries, preferably medical devices, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, or advanced manufacturing.
• Proven ability to lead through influence and deliver results across diverse teams.
• Strong business acumen, financial management, strategic planning, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• PMP, PMI, IPMA, or equivalent project management certification.
