Edifecs EDI Analyst Transaction Specialist (Healthcare)

Location: 100% U.S.-based remote position; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, or Washington will not be considered. Blacksburg, VA is also listed as the job location.

What you will do

• Own functional EDI workflows, partner requirements, transaction profiles, and data validation rules.
• Interpret and troubleshoot X12 transactions including 270/271, 276/277, 278, 820, 834, 835, 837, and 999/277CA.
• Analyze SNIP compliance, companion guides, Edifecs XEngine validation results, routes, profiles, rulesets, logs, and error codes.
• Document mappings, logical requirements, transaction flows, error trends, SOPs, and partner reference guides.
• Investigate middleware, API, payer, state-system, and non-X12 issues; validate payloads, timestamps, statuses, and error flags.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, EDI analysts, DevSecOps engineers, cloud teams, and integration specialists to resolve issues and assess operational impact.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required; must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance and pass the required government investigation.
• 8+ years of Edifecs product experience in EDI, healthcare, or enterprise application operations, plus 8+ years of EDI/HIPAA experience.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare payer/provider workflows, HIPAA, EDI X12 loops, segments, elements, SNIP Levels 1–7, companion guides, and error analysis.
• Hands-on experience with Edifecs Transaction Management or equivalent tools, XEngine, SpecBuilder, implementation guides, and SQL databases.
• Strong AWS experience; experience with inbound/outbound workflow architecture, AS2, SFTP, HTTPS, middleware, and APIs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience; familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and JIRA.
